Executive Bios

Khalid Sebti, Founder and CEO

As CEO of CrossTest, a SaaS application for device software testing, Khalid Sebti leads product strategy and customer engagements. He brings more than 20 years of experience in mobile and infrastructure software, and business applications. His roles have included engineering, sales and business development. Prior to founding CrossTest, Khalid served as VP of Business Development for WorldChain (now part of IBM), a SaaS provider of supply chain software where he was responsible for securing large orders from OEM customers. Prior to WorldChain, Khalid spent eight years at Oracle, serving in different management positions in business development and sales. He was instrumental in the success of Oracle in the Windows NT market and in the CRM space. Khalid began his career in software development for Verilog (now part of IBM), a market leader in design and test automation solutions for device software.

Khalid Sebti holds a MSc. in computer science from ENSAE (French National Aeronautical and Space Engineering School, Toulouse, France) and an MBA from INSEAD (European Institute of Business Administration, Fontainebleau, France).

Paul Linares, VP Customer Solutions

Paul Linares serves as Vice President of Customer Solutions at CrossTest. Earlier, at Atempo, a data protection and backup software solution provider, Paul was in charge of customer satisfaction as Worldwide Customer Support Vice President. Previously, Paul was VP of Operations at NetCentrex, a Voice-Over-IP leader, and held VP of Engineering positions in several startups (on-line training and on-line banking). Prior to that, he helped in the rapid expansion of CETIA, a subsidiary of Thales ($12B electonics, defense and aerospace conglomerate).

Paul earned a BSEE from Ecole Nationale Superieure de l'Aeronautique et de l'Espace and an MS from California Institute of Technology where he specialized in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering.

John Hartman, VP Product Engineering

Earlier in his career, John was Senior Director at Wind River Systems where he spent eight years in product development. As co-creator and strategist for the successful Tornado product line that revolutionized embedded systems development and fueled Wind River's 40% annual compound growth, Mr. Hartman built and led the organizations responsible for the Tornado IDE, Compilers, Runtime Visualization, SDKs, Strategic Partner Integrations and University Programs. John has served as VP of Engineering at CrossTest where he was responsible for all technical aspects of the CrossTest product line. Prior to CrossTest, Mr. Hartman spent a decade in real-time embedded software development with Varian and he was the system architect for Varian's family of chromatography instruments.

Mr. Hartman has a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC Berkeley and has completed the Executive Program at Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Ram Melkote, VP Product Marketing

Ram has over 20 years of cross functional experience in the IT industry in IT applications, service management, SOA , BPM, Middleware, Databases, and Systems Management. His experience has spanned Product Management, Marketing, Product Development, Architecture, and Consulting. He has served as the VP of Marketing at CrossTest where his duties included Product Management, and Business Development. Ram's experience includes product management at CA where he managed the product strategy for the CMDB and allied service management and operational tools. Ram spent six years at Oracle, where he was the Director of Produc Management for its Application Server product. At IBM, Ram was an architect for its premier object oriented package and at Bell Labs for an advanced Intelligent Networking product. Prior to CrossTest, Ram co-founded Phulaxis, a company that monitors business and technology controls across enterprise application systems, where he headed Product Management, Product Marketing and Business Development.

Ram has an MS in Engineering from Cornell, an MS in Computer Science from Columbia, a B. Tech in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), and an MBA from University of Chicago.
